Westcliff Hardcourts' Bob Byrnes came home in fourth place when Essex LTA held an invitation tournament at David Lloyd Basildon.
Byrnes partnered Richard Davis from the host club, where they were the losing third-place play-off finalists. David Tomlinson and Les Cambridge beat the duo.
Monday's winners were county LTA secretary Clive Ripon and Ray Jones, whose defeated Frinton pairing Jeremy Lyon and Barry Todd.
The event was organised and refereed by Westcliff-based county veterans organiser Ian Pitt, who was unable to play due to an injury.
A combination of Essex division one veteran and county players aged from 35 to those in their 70s were invited to take part. The first doubles up to eight games won each match.
