Castle Point's MP has raised his campaign to equip Canvey with its own train station in the House of Commons.
MP Bob Spink spoke of the issue in the Commons with Dr Kim Howells, Minister of State at the Department of Transport.
Before the House he demanded: "Is it not time that the Government got together with the Strategic Rail Authority and planned to increase capacity on the line by considering a new station for Canvey Island?"
Mr Spink has also written to the chairman of the SRA, Richard Bowker to requesting a meeting to discuss such a provision.
