Two people arrested in connection with the murder of Clacton widow Jean Dicker have been released without charge.
A 26-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman returned to the town's police station yesterday to answer bail.
The pair, who are both from the Clacton area, had been arrested and questioned on November 7.
The man was arrested on suspicion of the murder of the 58-year-old former Colchester traffic warden.
The woman had been arrested on the same day for perverting the course of justice.
An Essex Police spokesman said they had both been released from their bail.
"There will be no further action taken against them," he added.
The body of Mrs Dicker was discovered in the hallway of her bungalow in Craigfield Avenue, Great Clacton, on January 29 last year. She had suffered severe head injuries.
Anyone who can in the inquiry help should contact detectives at the Stanway major investigation room on 01206 762122.
