Police are appealing for help to identify a man who rode a moped around a supermarket in Tiptree while it was open to customers.
The man's antics were captured on CCTV cameras when he drove the 50cc Honda scooter into the Fiveways Co-op store in Church Road.
He spent a while driving around the shop on the black and grey moped before riding out through the front door.
Staff managed to make a note of the bike's registration number, M984 NPJ, but checks have failed to locate it and now police are hoping someone will recognise the man from CCTV footage.
He was white, of medium build, with long brown hair in a pony tail and was wearing a grey long-sleeved top, grey trousers and white-soled trainers.
If anyone can help, they are urged to contact officers at Colchester Police on 01206 762212
