Gloucester Park regular Lee Emery struck gold when he fished the venues cockle bank topping a multiple carp haul with a cracking common of 19lb.

The fish came during a late afternoon session which saw Lee net six carp in less than two hours. As well as the big common he also landed smaller commons of 6lb, 7lb, 8lb, 8lb 8oz and 9lb. The fish fell to homemade boilies cast to the island.

Fellow Gloucester Park regular Tom Butler also fished the cockle bank where he landed nearly fifty carp during a hectic night session.

Tom, who fished three rods, caught so many carp that at times he was unable to re-cast one rod before a fish picked up one of his other baits. By dawn he was so tired that he had to reel in his baits to allow him to snatch an hour's much-needed sleep.

Tom's best fish weighed 15lb, with numerous others estimated to weigh in excess of 10lbs apiece. The catch fell to homemade boilies cast to the island.

Gloucester Park, Lake Meadows and Northlands Park all received further stockings of roach during the week with fishery manager Mick Toomer introducing a further 750lbs of fish between the three lakes.
