Work is well under way on a £6 million project to upgrade a school's facilities
Contractors have completed all the preparation work for the scheme at Clacton County High School in Walton Road.
It includes a new gym, changing rooms, dining room, kitchens, sixth form accommodation, common room, study area and courtyard.
There is also a full refurbishment programme for the other buildings.
Bert Foster, chairman of governors, said the steel work for the gym was now up and work was progressing on schedule.
"The old gym has already been taken down - as well as the old changing rooms and toilets," he said.
On top of that Clacton County High School is getting another £2 million spent on community facilities at the site.
