Cheers! - Bertha Green enjoys a tipple Picture: MAXINE CLARKE
Mayor Charles Latham and Southend West Tory MP David Amess joined Bertha's family and friends for a champagne reception at the Beaufort Lodge Care Home, in St Vincent's Road, Westcliff.
Staff said they are amazed the sprightly Bertha never misses an opportunity to top up her tan in the summer.
Despite failing sight she also reads a newspaper every day and her Zimmer frame is more of an accessory than a walking aid.
