A cyclist and a motorist were taken to hospital with broken bones after a collision in Great Bromley.
The 17-year-old bike rider was left with a broken leg while the 40-year-old motorist suffered a fractured wrist in the collision at 9.25pm yesterday.
It happened on the brow of a hill in Harwich Road in Great Bromley between Elmstead Market and the road's junction with Frating Road.
A police spokeswoman said the car was travelling towards Elmstead Market and swerved off the carriageway following the collision with the bike, which was not moving.
Both men were taken to Colchester General Hospital and were kept in for treatment.
