Harlow Town put themselves back within title contention yesterday with a superb 3-1 win at league leaders Cheshunt.
Wayne Cort hit a brace and Carl Griffiths another as the Essex side put one over on the runaway leaders, who started the day eight points clear at the top of Division One North.
All in all it was an excellent day for Essex sides, with Tilbury the only side in action not to record all three points. They did, however, achieve a useful 1-1 home scoreline against Boreham Wood, with Shayne Mandogya equalising Sherwin Stanley's opener.
Wivenhoe Town romped to a convincing 3-0 away success at Barking with Michael Brothers, Sean Caton and Adrian Coote on the mark, while Aveley scored only once, though Nathan Elder's goal was enough to see off the challenge of Barton Rovers.
East Thurrock United's home clash with Leyton was called off, meanwhile Great Wakering Rovers climbed two places away from the foot of the table after a 2-1 win against crisis club Enfield - Dan Trenkel and Mark Hampshire the scorers.
