A new barrier has been installed to stop travellers accessing a Colchester beauty spot
Workers have been putting about 170 wooden posts around part of the perimeter of Spring Lane Park, off Cymbeline Way, Lexden, to make it more secure.

Residents were furious after travellers camped on the land in June and September last year, and Colchester Council has acted to try to stop it happening again.
The hilly stretch of land between Cymbeline Way and Lexden Road is considered an area of outstanding natural beauty. It is enjoyed by walkers and children for playing.
The Colchester Community Safety Partnership supplied the cash after the borough council's parks department looked at ways to keep vehicles off the land.
About 170 posts have been put in the ground, each about 18 inches high, to form a barrier around the field in parts where vehicles can gain access.
Lexden ward councillor Don Henshall said the barrier was the best solution that could be found with the money available.
He said the work also had to be sensitive to the natural surroundings. A metal fence would be too intrusive.
Mr Henshall said councillors were trying to organise an extra project to encourage residents and businesses to raise money for tree planting in the park.
