A planning application for the two walkways through Hadleigh Junior School's playing fields has been submitted to Castle Point Council. The paths will cost £18,000 in total and may be completed as soon as March.
Director for Technical Services, Nigel Thomas, who supports the development, said: "One path will coming through the field from Scrub Lane, the other from the Avenue - they will lead all the way through the school's playing fields right up to the school's entrance.
"It is to assist with the walking bus project - making the walk to school safer for the children involved."
