More than 50 police officers were involved in an operation to crackdown on car crime in Thurrock.
The two-day operation last month saw the officers carry out stop checks on drivers and look for auto crime.
In the 48 hours arrests were also made for other offences - two for drink driving, two who were wanted for burglary in Thurrock, three people wanted on warrant and five for minor offences - such as having no tax, or insurance.
A spokesman for Essex Police in Thurrock said: "We feel the two high-visiblity days were very successful and with more planned on the future, local people can be sure progress in Thurrock is being made."
