Spooky experiences - Teresa Collett in the police canteen Picture: ROB SAMBROOK
The town's police station, built on the site of a 4th century burial ground, has been the scene of a string of ghostly happenings
The evidence includes:
Items being wobbled and moved around in the kitchens of the canteen
A chilling ghostly presence in a corridor near the ID parade room
Sightings by cleaning and office staff of a grey shadowy figure near the boiler room.
Canteen manager Teresa Collett described her spooky experiences.
She said: "He moves things around, touches people, there are strange smells.
"You come in here sometimes and your hair stands up on your neck. It just frightens you."
Another witness to ghostly goings-on is crime reduction officer Colin Stiff, who has felt a chilling presence near the ID parade room.
