Struggling Great Wakering Rovers have suddenly found a new lease of life away from home.
After winning their opening Ryman Division One North game of the season at Berkhamsted, Rovers went 11 league games without a win on opposition territory.
But all that changed on New Year's Day when they pulled off a shock success at Dunstable, knocking the Bedfordshire side out of the top two.
And they carried on the cheery start to 2004 in Hertfordshire last night with a 2-0 success over another promotion-chasing side, Boreham Wood.
Their hosts had lost only one home league game previously this term, at the hands of Thame, but were forced to concede the three points to Alan Hull's men, who struck with a deadly two goals in little more than 60 seconds after 36 minutes.
The village side took the lead when veteran former Leyton Orient favourite Terry Howard sent in a deep free-kick, which central defensive partner Craig Dennis headed home at the far post.
And, before the home side had chance to recover, Dan Trenkel kept up his recent good scoring form by shooting home from a pass by central midfielder Mark Page, recently promoted from the reserves.
