A brave Corringham schoolgirl fought off a man who tried to grab her on her way to school.
The 12-year-old girl was walking alone through Corringham when the attempted abduction took place at about 7.20am on Monday morning.
The man approached her as she reached an alleyway between Cornwell Crescent and St James Avenue.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "As she was grabbed by her arm she managed to kick him in the shin and he ran off towards St James Avenue."
The attacker is described as about 30 years old, 5ft 6ins and of slim build.
He is white with short brown hair and was wearing a long black coat black gloves and glasses.
