Pupils at Hadleigh Infants School, Bilton Road, were delighted when the climbing frame and monkey bars were put up.
Headteacher Val Thompson said: "We wanted to improve our play equipment facilities so we went to the children and asked them what they wanted.
"Some wanted climbing equipment and there were others who wanted somewhere to be quiet and some wanted somewhere to play games."
There is now a pond painted on the playground where children can sit quietly and there are also hopscotch lines for those wanting to play or skip.
Parents helped raise £10,000 to pay for the climbing equipment by holding discos and cake sales throughout last year.
