A play had to be cancelled after cheering football supporters drowned out the actors on stage.
The Squeaky Clean theatre group was due to perform its version of Samuel Adamson's Clocks and Whistles on Saturday night, upstairs at the Spread Eagle in Victoria Avenue, Southend.
However the play had to be cancelled when the noise of drinkers and the pub's jukebox was heard during rehearsals.
Theatre group member Steve Pilley, pictured right, said: "We are very disappointed." Mr Pilley is hoping a new venue can be found.
