A high-profile campaign to cut crime in Clacton over the festive season has been hailed a success.
The problem-solving team at Clacton police station ran Operation Christmas Cracker campaign from the beginning of December until Christmas.
Key aims included preventing crime in the first place and stepping up the number of officers on the streets.
The operation was also aimed at disrupting criminal activity and incidents of disorder. And the public seemed to have noticed.
Officers say they have received a tremendous amount of feedback from members of the public, who said it was nice to see police back on the streets.
Members of the public have also told police officers they felt safe knowing they police were there.
