The new skateboard area in Rayleigh's King George's playing field will be firmly locked at night to ensure it cannot be abused by youngsters.
The town council has agreed to take the measure of locking the equipment which will be put on the new area in a bid to cut down on continuing worries about the scheme.
Members have also agreed to look into providing an earth mound or bund to try to reduce likely noise to either nearby homes or the bowls green.
Rayleigh town clerk Barbara Larken said: "The council is obviously keen to try to cut down any problems from the new facility and the site has been worked out in conjuction with the district council.
"We are hopeful these moves will allay some of the worries which have been expressed."
