Anglo-Scot Bill Longmuir became the youngest two-time winner on the European Seniors Tour when he added the De Vere PGA Seniors' Championship to last month's Wales Senior Open title.
Playing over the Nicklaus course at Carden Park, Cheshire, the tour rookie -- the former Basildon pro turned 50 just over a month ago -- sealed victory on the final green with a seven-foot birdie three for a 67.
That gave him a two-shot win over the current star of the seniors tour -- Carl Mason from Oxfordshire, who tied with Ireland's Denis O'Sullivan -- and £16,730 in prize money.
Longmuir's 67 for 271 had only one blemish, at the short 17th where he was caught between clubs and pushed a six-iron right of the green.
His chip to four feet failed to be rewarded as the Anglo-Scot uncharacteristically pushed the putt wide.
But he made immediate amends at the final hole. "If I hadn't holed it, Carl (lying a foot nearer) would probably have -- which would have meant a play-off," said Longmuir.
