Former club club captain David Turner returned to form with an almighty bang in Rochford Hundred's August medal over the weekend.

Turner fired four birdies and 13 pars in a sizzling 68-4=64 to romp home in Saturday's Division One ahead of Mick Gill, who notched no less than seven birdies on his way to a level-par 71-4=67 and second place.

The scoring was also red hot in Division Two, with Mike Davill (76-12=64) only scraping to victory on countback from Wayne Godfrey (76-12=64). Davill birdied three holes and collected nine pars while Godfrey enjoyed a consistent 14 pars.

Division Three winner was John Wade, who had eight pars in his 84-17=67 which easily saw off Ken Cambell (88-18=70).

Sunday's scoring was equally as good with two cadets taking the top spots in Division One.

Rising star Rhys Piper collected six birdies plus 10 pars in his 67-1=66 but still only pipped young Liam Gray (75-9=64) thanks to a better back nine. Gray had three birdies and nine pars but was left bitterly regretting a double bogey on the par-five 16th.
