Pensioners have hit out at plans to sell off an elderly people's home in Dovercourt.
Essex County Council wants to sell Lime Court the last remaining council-run home in Tendring.
But several pensioners have spoken out against the plan, and fear it could affect their quality of life.
Nina Blyth, 79, of Harwich, goes to the day centre at Lime Court.
She said: "When I first went there, I was in a bad state and very low. I could not have cared less about anything. It's only thanks to a certain social worker and the staff in the day centre I got better. If I could not get there I think I would definitely slip back."
A 95-year-old woman from Mistley added: "I go to Lime Court four times a year for respite please don't let it close."
