A son mourning the loss of his beloved mother has watched cheques flood in for a fundraising venture in her memory.
Andrew Mansfield, 46, of Canvey, has raised almost £1,000 for Basildon Hospital as a mark of respect after his mother, Joan, 74, who died from liver cancer.

His father, Roy, 69, died of prostate cancer five years ago.
The couple, of Whitmore Way, Basildon, were married for 49 years and had two children and five grandchildren.
In that time they raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity through the insurance company Foresters.
Foresters runs its own charity supporting members wanting to raise money.
Andrew decided that rather than receive flowers from loved ones his parents would have preferred the money to be spent on one of the charities they raised money for throughout their lives.
He said: "We decided to take donations to buy a piece of equipment for the Edith Cavell ward in Basildon Hospital where my mother was last treated."
Andrew's parents collected for various charities, including Macmillan nurses, Marie Curie and the Billericay Burns Unit.
