Protest signs have been springing up along the Manorway in Stanford-le-Hope as the long public inquiry into P&O and Shell's plans for the former Shell Haven refinery site draws to a close.

Twenty-two weeks after the inquiry opened on February 25, closing statements from several of the leading objectors and the applicants are due to be heard tomorrow.
Among those due to give closing statements tomorrow is the Shell Haven Project Environmental Action Committee - a residents' protest group.
Thurrock Council, the RSPB and the Environment Agency will also appear.
