More than £2.5 million of improvements have been unveiled to make travelling safer and better for Essex rail users
The works, which range from CCTV systems to new waiting rooms, were announced today by rail regulator Tom Winsor.
Work is expected to begin shortly and will be carried out by Network Rail.
A new CCTV system costing £245,000 will be set up at Colchester North Station while a new waiting room will be installed at Colchester Town station, costing £221,000.
Marks Tey station will have a £314,000 CCTV system put in and Wivenhoe station will get a new waiting room costing £180,000.
At Manningtree station, CCTV will be put in place at a cost of £281,000.
A new CCTV system will be installed at the unmanned Hatfield Peverel station.
