Rayleigh medic Andrea Edwards will be trading south Essex for Central America when she travels to Costa Rica to work in underprivileged villages later this month.

The 30-year-old, who works at the ambulance station at Rayleigh Weir, will be travelling to a country with a contingent of 150 from Raleigh International, a youth development organisation.
She said: "This is something I've always wanted to do; I'm interested in watching developing countries improve themselves.
"I don't know where I'll be working yet, but I'm looking forward to the challenge."
