Children at St John School in Stock Road, Billericay, were entertained by a skittle expert to kickstart a week of fun activities.
The Billericay Out of School Scheme has been letting youngsters get to grips with a whole host of arts and crafts activities - but the hot weather meant some just wanted to play in the sun instead.
Youngsters on the scheme can look forward to a visit from the fire brigade as well as meeting Wat Tyler park rangers and the police before the end of the month.
