Colchester's biggest estate is also the town's biggest cluster spot for bogus callers
About 100 incidents of scams have been recorded in Colchester during the past two-and-a-half years.
The numbers are low compared with some parts of the country, but Colchester police are still taking a zero-tolerance approach to the crime, with Greenstead the worst hit area.
Helicopters, dog search teams and scenes of crime officers are now at the ready for when a 999 call about bogus callers comes in.
The Evening Gazette's If In Doubt, Keep 'Em Out campaign was launched at about the same time as the police's clampdown called Operation Grizzly Bear.
