People in mid Essex are not following guidelines on how to cope in the hot weather.
The Accident and Emergency department at Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford, has dealt with lots of cases of sunburn since the heatwave started.
A spokeswoman for Mid Essex Hospital Services NHS Trust said people were not following guidelines about avoiding the particularly strong midday sun.
She said it was important people who were out in the heat regularly applied a high factor suncream.
