Blues new boy Che Wilson said he was looking at the prospect of facing Third Division forwards once again this season until joining Southend.
The 24-year-old defender completed his summer switch from Cambridge City last week.
Now he looks set to start this Saturday's curtain raiser with Cheltenham Town in the left back berth with both Neil Jenkins (hamstring) and Jamie Stuart (suspended) unavailable for selection.

"I'm right-footed so right back is my natural position but I played most of my first team games at Norwich at left back and at Bristol Rovers as well, so it's not unusual for me to play there," said the versatile Wilson.
"I can play on either side but I'll just be pleased to be in the starting 11 because although it's been a tough pre-season, it's great for me to be playing full-time football again, I'm loving it."
