The finishing touches are to be put to Wick country park's new information and study centre following the completion of major building work.
Construction of the country park pavilion in Tresco Way, Wickford, is now finished, and the contractors have passed the keys on to Basildon Council, which will be responsible for fitting out the building before its official opening later this year.
A council spokesman said: "The pavilion is destined to become a major focus as an information and study centre for school groups and other visitors to the park, a base for the countryside ranger and a facility which can be let out for private parties."

The Wick is Basildon's latest country park, covering 50 acres of former agricultural land. It has more than two kilometres of trails, a five acre lake, wartime pillboxes and new woodland.
