Ronnie Irani and his team will be attempting to extract revenge for their biggest National League hammering of the season when they return to day-night action at Chelmsford today.
Just over three weeks ago they were crushed by eight wickets in the game against Glamorgan at Cardiff despite an unbeaten 144 from Nasser Hussain leading them to a 267 for six total.
Jimmy Maher's 142 and Robert Croft's 64 the pair shared in an opening stand of 181 in 25 overs were chiefly responsible for a day the county will want to forget.
"It's not an experience I want to go through again," admitted Irani.
"We got well and truly thrashed but now we have a chance to put the record straight."
