Disruptive drainage works resumed in a Billericay village on Monday causing misery to residents.
Contractors begun the £500,000 works to lay new pipes in Church Road, Ramsden Bellhouse, which was halted in February with half the job completed.
The work is hoped to be finished in 17 weeks and contractors, Alfred McAlpine, have promised to keep Church Road open at weekends.
During this period, Church Road, the main route through the village will be closed off and motorists will diverted through Castledon Road, Downham Road and London Road.
