A woman with severe learning difficulties was left without care or food for a day after her support worker failed to turn up.
Lizzy Hornby, 24, was one of the first people to move into Elmwood, New Farm Road, Stanway, when the eight-flat facility opened two-and-a-half years ago.

Her parents, Philip and Sally, were appalled when they learned she had been left on her own for an entire day without food.
They have also called for a round-the-clock warden to be appointed to look after residents in the event of an emergency.
Support provider Pentahact, which arranges care cover at Elmwood, had to call in an agency to supply cover on the day in question and the person fell ill. The problem was caused because the agency did not know she was ill.
Pentahact is now set to raise the issue with the agency concerned.
