Plans, unveiled after volunteers spent days clearing the site, are to include a part-covered walkway to link up to the entrance to the garden from the main Tyrells building, water features and birdbaths.
There will also be seating, mosaic flowerbeds, sculptures, wind chimes and music for people to enjoy.
One of the designers, Lisa Hawkler said: "The garden will be a new feature for the 200 people who use the day centre."
