Canvey is gearing up for record temperatures after a weekend bathed in beautiful sunshine.
Temperatures hit the high 80s yesterday as people took to beaches and parks across the island.
Canvey seafront traders cashed in as thousands of people bought drinks and ice-creams to cool down and the whole area was packed throughout the weekend.

Terry Durrant, manager of the Lobster Smack, in Haven Road, said: "We have been very busy with the hot weather."
