A new hotel could be built on a £1.75 million site in Braintree.
Notley Cross, beside the junction of the A120 and the A131, is for sale through estate agents Fenn Wright which is quoting the land at a price of £500,000 an acre.
The 3.45 acre piece of land is next the new A120 Braintree to Stansted road scheme, under construction, and is being advertised as a major roadside development opportunity.
A lodge-type hotel could be built there or a car dealership.
Hugh Crayston, of Fenn Wright, said the land was being marketed for retail uses, so a slightly higher price was being quoted than for industrial use.
Land for retail use ranged from about £300,000 to £500,000 in price for the Braintree area, Mr Crayston said.
