An eight-year-old girl has been killed on a zebra crossing.
The youngster was crossing the road in Billericay with her mother when a sports car collided with them. She died instantly.

Her 38-year-old mother was also injured in the crash in Southend Road near the junction with Outwood Common Road at about 7pm yesterday. She was taken to Basildon Hospital with leg injuries.
Police arrested the 21-year-old driver of the red Toyota Supra at the scene, he was later released on bail.
Police said the girl was killed after the Toyota Supra and a blue Ford Fiesta driven by a 38-year-old man collided near the crossing.
