Thorpe Bay's Peter Thompson successfully defended the Velsheeda Trophy despite light winds which slowed down sailors on Sunday.
He came in at the front of a field of more than 20 vessels from the Thorpe Bay and Essex Sailing Clubs.
Organiser David Johnson said the race had been a big success again -- even though his boat finished at the back of the field.
"It was a brilliant day," he said. "We had more than 20 entries for the second year and there was a good crowd who came down to watch."
