His competitive year got off to a great start when he was a member of the Essex Under-15 team that took third position overall in the UK final of the Norwich Union Indoor Sportshall competition in Birmingham.
But this summer Davison is making massive strides on the outdoor scene.
Representing Thorpe Hall he took gold in the Independent Schools Associat-ion national finals in Birmingham in both the discus and shot at years eight/nine level.
In the latter event he recorded a great 13.44 to create a new record for the national final -- but he had already thrown a personal best 14.14m in the regional final at Colchester.
Thorpe Bay schoolboy Davison carried on the good work in the All-England Schools Championships at Sheffield's Don Valley Stadium.
There he took silver in the junior boys' shot with a throw of 13.99.
Now the talented teenager has two big dates coming up this month. On August 16 and 17 he will be competing back at Sheffield in both discus and shot when the AAA Champ-ionships for under-15s and 17s are staged.
A week later he will be in action for Essex in the South of England Athletics Association inter-counties competition.
