Malachy O'Sullivan has been raising cash for Southend Hospital since 1997 and his latest collection in Southend High Street made £968.32.
The money will go towards a new electric bed for the renal unit at the hospital, in Prittlewell Chase.
Delighted Malachy said: "I have managed to raise £10,000 for the hospital since 1997 by setting up in the High Street with a PA system, playing songs and interacting with the crowd."
