Colchester United's plans for a new 10,000 all-seater stadium on north side of the town at Cuckoo Farm took a big step forward last night when outline planning consent was given by the local council.
The planning proposals for the six-part development, including 1,500 homes, a police station and a primary school, were discussed at a four-hour local planning committee meeting at the Town Hall.
All six parts of the project were approved at the meeting.
