A large panther-like animal has been sighted again in the Broxted area Parish councillor Roger Clark was out walking his dog when he spotted the black beast.
The incident occurred at around 8am on July 6, between East End Road and Brown's End Road
"I enjoy walking and regularly go out with my dog, Bonnie," said Mr Clark, 55, a member of Broxted Parish Council.
"We were strolling along the path near Garrolds Farm when I saw it
"We came around a bend and there, about 20 yards ahead, was a large, black, furry animal with a long tail sitting on the ground.
"I immediately stopped and called Bonnie, who is quite old and seemed totally unconcerned. I was convinced that it was a big, cat-like animal
"The animal got up, turned and moved away and I did the same in the opposite direction. I was not nervous as there have not been any reports of it attacking humans, but I did not want to take any chances."
Mr Clark's account brings big cat sightings in the Great Dunmow area to a total of 31 since 1997
