Six pupils from a Clacton school will be heading off to New York in November for lessons at the Fame school.
The invitation has come following a visit by Barbara Pollard from La Guardia High, the school which gave rise to the hit television series.
Pupils from Clacton County High School Jessica Horricks and Jeanette Stiffel with Barbara Pollard, former Chairman of the School for Performing Arts in New York.
She was at Clacton County High in Walton Road yesterday with her 15-year-old grandson, Alex.
They were given a tour of the school.
They also watched a performance by two pupils. Jessica Horrocks, who recently recorded her second CD at the famous Abbey Road studios, and Jeanette Stiffel, an outstanding violinist.
Mrs Pollard said: "Clacton County High is a marvellous school with a lovely atmosphere."
John Clay, principal at Clacton County High, which is a specialist arts college, said the group from Clacton would be going over in November.
About six pupils would go to the school.
