Braintree MP Alan Hurst has officially opened an outdoor play area at a Witham nursery with a fence which enables children to play in safety.
Mr Hurst was at Treetops Pre-School, based at the Forest Road Community Hall, Forest Road, yesterday to see the fence around a section of the grounds which enables children to go out and play when they like.
The £2,500 permanent, metal fence replaces temporary orange netting which had to be put out on hooks, and came thanks to £750 from the Foresters Fund for Children, which fundraises for children's causes. Braintree Council paid the rest.
Mr Hurst joined Braintree councillors, representatives from Foresters and parents and children.
Supervisor Christine Burg said Mr Hurst thought the outdoor area was an asset to the nursery.
