Police are warning people not to take short cuts to Braintree Freeport over the railway line leading to Braintree Station.
PC Dave Vint, of the British Transport Police, gave the warning today after he caught two young boys crossing the line with push bikes on Sunday afternoon.
He said: "People are coming up from the housing estate behind Freeport and crossing over the railway line just past the end of the Freeport station platform and going into Freeport.
"There is a fence by the Freeport car park which has been cut and every time they fix it, it is cut again, which shows it is a recurring problem.
"We want people to know we are aware of the problem and it is a very dangerous thing to be doing."
If anyone has any information on who may be cutting the fence or crossing the tracks, they should contact the British Transport Police in Ipswich on 01473 601978
