Paul Bennett won the toss for the first time this season, but that was as good as the day got for Horndon as Orsett raced to victory on Saturday.
"I hadn't won a toss all year . . . and I wish I hadn't this time after the way things worked out," said Bennett.
"We batted first on a very lively track and they bowled really well and put it in exactly the right place, which was just short of a length.
"For the last seven weeks we have scored 200-plus, but this time they just bowled at us too well."
Jason Plom with 22 and Bip Keeping, who contributed 21, were the only batsmen to make contributions of any note.
Orsett's overseas bowler, Kiwi G West, was the main weapon of destruction, taking incredible figures of 7-55.
Horndon's bowlers had nowhere near that level of success, with Chris Singh (1-48) the only man to take a wicket.
Rob Turner was Orsett's top scorer with an unbeaten 55.
