Thousands of folk fans headed to the coast at the weekend for one of Essex's largest musical events.

The three-day Southend and Leigh Folk Festival, held in Leigh Broadway and in Old Leigh, attracted performers and enthusiasts from across the country.
Morrismen, Irish dancers, poetry groups, storytellers and Egyptian folk dancers were among more than 100 acts to take to the stage.
