Three young members of Southend Swimming Club's diving division made a clean sweep of medals in their respective events at the Southern Counties Age Group Diving Championships at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre.

Each collected three wins.

Youngest team member Vicky Stoneham, competing in the 12-13 year age group, took first place in the 1m and 3m springboard, and the 5m highboard events.

Achieving personal best scores in the 3m and 5m events Vicky was understandably delighted with her performances.

Also seeking their own pot of gold, team mates Fay Ratcliff and Danny Osborne, competing in the 14-15 years age group, repeated the clean sweep of victories on the 1m and 3m springboards and, as they are in the older age groups, the 7m Highboard events too.

Fay made personal best scores on all three boards and Danny a personal best score on the 7m platform.

All three divers will be competing at the National Age Group Championships being held in Southampton, starting from Saturday to Tuesday.

Coach Bill Clark said: "The divers all have unique styles and each has different strengths and weaknesses.

"They have the potential to achieve medals at nationals provided they stay focused and prepare correctly."
