A bid to use more land at a Walton holiday park to site caravans on has been given the thumbs-down by town councillors after protests from nearby residents.
Frinton and Walton Town Council last night decided to recommend refusal for the extra use of the Naze Marine Holiday Park because of the lack of detail provided.
Councillors backed residents' fears over the number of static caravans intended for the site and how far from gardens they would be the details of which were not given.
Residents near the park in Hall Lane were also concerned about parking space, their size and extra disturbance.
Frinton councillor Roy Caddick said: "The plans are just not good enough."
Tendring Council will decide the application.
One couple Sarah and Paul Amos said the noise from the current caravans and club already added up to "a living nightmare".
